Nvidia Shield Smart Home Edition announced
Manufacturer Nvidia, known from graphics cards and media players, has a new version of the current Nvidia Shield announced. It is the Smart Home Edition, which comes with a link hub from Samsung SmartThings. It is unclear whether this version will also be available in the Netherlands, but in the United States there is a price tag of 219.99 dollars. That is converted 194 euros. That price is striking, since the Shield and the link hub are cheaper if you buy both devices separately (saves a dollar).
Besides the link hub of SmartThings, the smarthomeplatform from Samsung, you also get a remote control. This version of the Nvidia Shield has 16 GB of internal storage and has Android Oreo as its operating system. You also get immediate access to the Google Assistant which is likely to be used on other devices in Dutch later this year (for now this is only on smartphones ). With the media player it is possible to view content in 4k and play games via a game streaming service.
