Marantz expands its range this week with the new SR7013 AV receiver and the AV7705 preamplifier. Both top models include IMAX Enhanced decoding, HEOS multiroom audio and Alexa voice control.
Marantz SR7013 AV Receiver
The SR7013 is the flagship model of Marantz’s AV receiver range and is designed as an all-in-one processing solution. and reinforcement solution. The receiver comes with new components in the transformer and signal processing components, conversion from digital to analogue and a Current Feedback preamplifier section using the Marantz HDAM technology.
The SR7013 has nine amplifier channels of 200 Watt with double subwoofer outputs to display Dolby Atmos, DTS:X / DTS Virtual:X and Auro 3D sound. Thanks to 11.2 channel processing function and pre-outs, it is possible to expand to even more channels. It is also one of the first home cinema products with the IMAX Enhanced option : made available via a free firmware update and can be combined with IMAX remastered 4K HDR content and DTS audio technology.
The SR7013 has eight HDMI inputs, including one on the front panel, and three outputs. All are suitable for 4K video formats 4K / 60 Hz full-rate passthrough, 4:4:4 color resolution, HDR10, BT.2020, Dolby Vision and Hybrid Log Gamma. In addition, it can scale up old video formats to 1080p and 4K Ultra HD (60Hz), convert analog video content to HDMI, and support HDMI eARC. There is also a Phono connection.
The receiver has Audyssey MultEQ XT32 auto-calibration, plus Audyssey Dynamic Volume, LFC, Sub EQ HT and Dynamic EQ. The SR7013 can also be used with the optional Audyssey app to adjust surround setup and speaker / room tuning. A Web User Interface can be used for remote access and operation of the SR7013. Other custom installation options include Smart Remote Management, Domotz and ihiji support and HDMI diagnostics for monitoring and optimizing the connection between the source, the receiver and the target.
The SR7013 can play music in high resolution (up to DSD 5.6 Mhz) ) from network or USB drives. In addition, it also provides access to streaming services, such as Deezer, Internet radio, Spotify Connect and Tidal, and is equipped with built-in Bluetooth and AirPlay 2 for wireless music streaming of portable devices and computers. It can be combined with other products that are equipped with HEOS, from wireless speakers to amplifiers and receivers remotely, for a complete multiroom music system that can be fully controlled with the HEOS app. Thanks to the Alexa function, the SR7013 can also be operated with voice from an Amazon Echo device.
The flexibility of the SR7013, with which HDMI outputs can even be extended to screens in extra rooms, is entirely thanks to the powerful performance. It offers the possibility to create a complete and leading home cinema and music system with the well-known Marantz sound and pure video quality.
For those who want to create their home cinema and music system themselves and choose their own amplification the AV7705 has been developed. This preamplifier offers 11.2-channel processing and 11.2-channel outputs on both RCA and balanced XLR connections.
The preamplifier comes with many of the same features as the SR7013. The AV7705 can be used in combination with power amplifiers such as the 7-channel Marantz MM8077, the 5-channel MM7055 or the 2-channel MM7025. So you can create a complete 11.2-channel system directly or start with a simpler 7.1-channel setup and later expand. And of course you can access all current 4K video formats and 3D audio formats, Auro-3D Dolby Atmos and DTS:X / Virtual:X sound, and the IMAX ENHANCED function via a future update. The preamplifier provides all SR7013 music streaming features, including network / USB / streaming playback, Bluetooth and AirPlay 2 and can be integrated with a HEOS multiroom system, complete with Alexa voice control.

The Marantz SR7013 and AV7705 are from October 2018 available in the colors black or silver gold (only the SR7013), for 1.999 euros and 2.099 euros respectively.
