Google has been quietly releasing an update to Google Stadia that takes Google stadia supports gaming over mobile networks out of the experimental phase.

Google Stadia: Pay attention when gaming over mobile networks

It had been possible for a while to game over mobile networks with Google Stadia, but that was still an experimental feature at the time. A server-side update from Google has made it an official feature now. Google itself has not released anything about this. The company has been quietly implementing the change, gamers discovered, among other things Reddit. Previously you had to activate the function in the experimental options, but from now on you will find the function under the heading Performance, within the mobile app.

If you want to activate the function that Google stadia supports gaming over mobile, Google will warn against the data use of Google Stadia. The maximum resolution may get stuck at 720p, but you still use 2.7 GB per hour if you continue to play continuously. In that respect, it is not too bad that the resolution does not go higher, because then the use also increases. Chances are that you will go through your data bundle very quickly when you game on mobile networks. Perhaps this will change when 5g is actually rolled out, but we are not that far yet.

When you enable the function, the Google Stadia home screen will show a different icon. So you know that you are playing over the mobile network and not over WiFi. You should also take into account that you have a bluetooth or wired controller, since the Stadia controller works over WiFi.
