Sony presents 2021 OLED TV and LCD LED TV line-up: Sony today announced its 2021 TV line-up during the virtual edition of CES 2021. The Japanese manufacturer comes with a large number of new TV series, including the top models in the Z9J series and the A90J series.

One of the most important innovations in the new TV line-up from Sony is the Cognitive Processor XR. This processor uses cognitive intelligence, which, according to Sony, means that the focus point on the image is looked at and all elements in the image are tuned to each other for the most natural and optimal display. According to Sony, this should enable better image quality than with artificial intelligence, where only individual elements on the screen are looked at, such as color, contrast and detail. Everything in a scene is synchronized with the Cognitive Processor XR. This does not only apply to the image. The position of the audio is also adjusted to what is happening on the screen. In addition, all audio is converted to ‘3D surround sound’ for a more impressive reproduction.

The Sony televisions for 2021 run on Android TV just like in previous years, but this year the Google TV interface was used. This interface, which we already saw with the , should make finding and viewing interesting content easier. Sony also introduces Bravia Core, a platform that allows users to access premium content from the Sony Pictures Entertainment film studio. This includes IMAX content. The televisions are therefore equipped with a IMAX Enhanced mode, plus the Netflix Calibrated Mode.

HDMI 2.1 is on board all Bravia XR televisions this year. This means that there is support for 4K120, VRR (variable refresh rate), ALLM (auto low latency mode) and eARC. The televisions are operated by means of the supplied remote or by voice. This year you can directly address your television without having to take out the remote control. The models are also compatible with smart speakers that are equipped with Amazon Alexa or the Google Assistant.
