It appears that Sony is pulling old games from PlayStation. That is Sony intends to remove the current range of games for PlayStation 3, PSP and PlayStation Vita from the PlayStation Store.
Sony is pulling old games from PlayStation Store – Rumor
The French website Planète Vita says he has an email that Sony recently sent to partners. That email would state, among other things, that the company intends to provide the PlayStation Store with a new coat of paint. This applies to both mobile devices and via a web browser on a PC. The new design should be available from October 19th. Unfortunately, we do not yet know what the store will look like in the future, but the email does state that content will disappear that you can no longer purchase digitally via the web or the app.
It concerns the following content:
- PlayStation 3 games and add-ons
- PlayStation Portable games and add-ons
- PlayStation Vita games and add-ons
- Apps
- Themes
- Avatars
It would still be possible to purchase the games and other digital content via the consoles mentioned above. So if you still want to buy a PS3 game, you can only do that via the console itself.
The wait is now for Sony to confirm the news. So that must be done in the short term, as the changes should go live in a few weeks.
