Sony started this week with the sale of the HT-ZF9 and HT-XF9000. Both are soundbars with support for Dolby Atmos. Both are also equipped with Virtual Surround Sound and a design that has to match the design of the company’s latest TVs.
Sony HT-ZF9 and HT-XF9000 soundbars for sale
The Sony HT-ZF9 is a 3.1-channel soundbar with Dolby Atmos and Virtual Surround Sound. The elongated soundbar is just an audio driver and smartly positioned speakers. The Vertical Surround Engine produces a Dolby Atmos sound without using ceiling reflection or raised speakers. Also, SA-Z9R (rear) speakers can be added that are designed for the HT-ZF9. A 5.1-channel surround sound can be created with this expansion.
In addition to this model, Sony is launching the HT-XF9000 with two front-channel loudspeakers. This 2.1-channel soundbar uses fewer speakers than the HT-ZF9 but also offers. Both new soundbars support 4K HDR and Dolby Vision. The corresponding subwoofer is wireless. These soundbars are also compatible with HDCP 2.2, they are equipped with two HDMI in ports and an HDMI output, and are suitable to connect via Bluetooth to for example Spotify.
