Philips 2018 LCD LED TV line-up

Philips 2018 LCD LED TV line-up
In this review are going to look at Philips 2018 LCD LED TV line-up with top models and series like PUS8303, PUS7803, PUS7373, PUS6703, PUS7383, PUS6503 and PUS7503.

TP Vision introduces several new LCD LED TV series in 2018, the top models of which include the 4K Ultra HD resolution, NanoLED technology, Android TV and Ambilight. The P5 processor introduced last year also comes to more models this year. Philips has developed the new Saphi platform for smart TVs that do not have Android TV. We are going to look at Philips 2018 LCD LED TV line-up.

Philips 2018 lcd LED TVs

The absolute top models for 2018 are of course the OLED TVs that Philips has announced, but your budget is smaller or LCD LED is preferred, then there is still plenty of choice. The 7000 and 8000 series models this year have the P5 Picture Engine, a powerful chip, consisting of five processors that optimize source perfection, sharpness, color, contrast and movement. The 8000 series models have the NanoLED technology. This means that a layer of 1nm nanoparticles has been added that absorbs excess light waves and thus allows better color rendering and better viewing angles.

HDR10+ , the HDR standard with dynamic metadata, also in the 8000 series, in addition to support for HDR10 and HLG. We will not see Dolby Vision on any Philips TV this year. Finally, Ambilight is present on many 2018 models. Only the 6503 series has to do without the mood lighting.

Google Assistant and Saphi

The Android TV’s of 2018 (and a number of models from 2017) will get access to the Google Assistant this year. This voice assistant enables voice operation via the remote control. This allows you to search content, switch channels and control your smart home devices. The Dutch language is expected to be supported by the end of 2018.

The lower models, which come without Android TV, this year have the new Saphi smart TV platform. This is a makeover of Philips’ NetTV platform. The new interface is much faster and more user-friendly, but less extensive than Android TV. Of course there is access to services such as Netflix and YouTube.
