LG 83-inch OLED TV: CES will start again in less than a month. The largest consumer electronics fair will be completely virtual next year, but that does not mean that we cannot expect great innovations. The rumor mill is now running at full speed and today the message appears that LG Display will come with an 83-inch OLED panel in 2021 and will increase the brightness of OLED panels.
LG 83-inch OLED TV
The colleagues of AVCesar come with the message that LG Display is about to release an 83-inch 4K OLED television. At the moment, LG display already produces 77-inch and 88-inch OLED televisions, but the 88-inch variants are only available with the 8K resolution released. So there would be an 83-inch 4K panel ready for launch in 2021, which means that manufacturers such as LG, Philips, Panasonic and Sony may present 83-inch 4K OLED televisions in 2021.
In addition, the message talks about a higher brightness for OLED panels, with a maximum brightness of up to 1000 nits. This is not a particularly big step and not completely new, since Panasonic already released OLED televisions with a brightness of around 1,000 nits this year. Panasonic managed to achieve this through its own cooling technology. LG Display, however, would have developed a different technology in which the pixels themselves emit about 20 percent more light.
In the second week of January we expect all the news about new televisions and technology for televisions.
