Google has announced that YouTube Kids will come to the Netherlands in 2019. This is a safe environment on the platform for children. The app will be available for Android and iOS from the spring, the spokesman says.

The YouTube Kids app is officially coming to the Netherlands, let Google spokesman Rachid Finge know in a tweet. Opposite Nu.nl Finge said that the Android and iOS app will be available from next spring. The app was originally launched in 2015 in the United States. Kids is a video platform for children, where they should be able to watch videos safely. Parental settings are also available and time slots can be set and the search function can be turned off.
Parents can also block specific channels, so you can be sure that these videos will not be watched. But that does not mean that all bad content is blocked, because there is still a video or advertisement through all the blockages. That is why there is also a function that allows parents to decide which videos can be watched. Furthermore, a team of YouTube employees will be looking into which channels do and do not belong within YouTube Kids. An algorithm then does a final check.
