Yamaha introduces this week the RX-V385, the company’s first new av receiver for 2018. However, this entry-level model features almost all new standards and technologies, including 4K Ultra HD support and support for Dolby Vision. The receiver can control a 5.1-channel home cinema system.

The RX-V385 features new 384kHz / 32bit DAC, which, according to Yamaha, provides a compelling listening experience in 5.1 -channel surround guarantees. If necessary, the RX-V385 can also be used optimally with two loudspeakers: in the new bi-amping mode two output stages control a loudspeaker and provide the treble or treble range.
The advantages bi-amping is also reflected in DIRECT Mode, which is now integrated for the first time in the entry-level model. In this case, unnecessary circuits are deactivated. In addition, the Yamaha RX-V385 has a Music Enhancer for lossless material (44.1kHz / 16Bit). All loudspeaker outputs are equipped with high-quality screw terminals.
The RX-V385 can both transmit and receive Bluetooth. Thanks to the integrated Bluetooth transmitter, for example, headphones can be connected wirelessly. The latest generation HDMI connections offer both standby and input switching. Thanks to support from 4K Ultra HD the receiver is compatible with current and future high-resolution content. Dolby Vision and HDR10 are also available.
The automatic measurement YPAO enables the configuration of the home theater system: with one press of a button on the included measurement microphone the settings for the room in question are determined. Cinema DSP perfects sound of TV, movies and video games even further with the choice of 17 sound field programs. Yamaha’s ECOmode reduces the power consumption of multichannel receivers by at least 20 percent. The function can be activated via the menu if required and provides efficient energy consumption.

The AV receiver Yamaha RX-V385 is available in specialist colors from May 2018 in the colors titanium and black. The recommended retail price is 369.00 euros.
