Yamaha HA-L7A Headphone Amplifier

Introducing Yamaha HA-L7A headphone amplifier- TRUE SOUND. BECAUSE THERE ARE GREATER HEIGHTS TO REACH

In its effort to achieve the true best sound in headphone listening, Yamaha has created a headphone amplifier that achieves true audiophile performance. Our passion for constantly creating and innovating has scaled sonic heights for over 30 years, fusing superior Hi-Fi audio technologies with advances in the sound field of our AV receivers. Introducing our HA-L7A high-end headphone amplifier. Dive into it, immerse yourself, and experience all the excitement and enthusiasm again in all your entertainment.

TONAL BALANCE

Strive to eliminate minimal noise and achieve high response speed, which is crucial for ultra-high resolution music sources, and ensure that the amplification can accurately handle even the most delicate signals so that all Sound elements, from musical instruments to voices and dialogue, are faithfully reproduced “as is” without any unnatural coloration or timbre changes.

YAMAHA’S UNIQUE FLOATING AND BALANCED POWER AMPLIFIER TECHNOLOGY

Yamaha has optimized its patented floating and balanced power amplifier technology for this headphone amplifier. Four sets of power amplifier circuits on the positive and negative sides of the left and right channels of the output stage float from the ground, resulting in a completely symmetrical push-pull operation of the output stage. The headphones can be controlled without altering the amplifier settings between balanced and unbalanced, minimizing any discrepancies in sound quality due to different output terminals. Additionally, all circuits, including the power supply, are completely independent of the ground, and all effects of minute voltage fluctuations and external noise surrounding the ground are eliminated. By maximizing these sound quality advantages, the amplifier achieves a natural, fatigue-free sound that lets you completely lose yourself in your entertainment, even when listening for a long time.

ESS ULTRA-HIGH PERFORMANCE 32-BIT D/A CONVERTER

Sparing no expense to achieve superior sound quality suitable for Yamaha’s ideal high-end headphone amplifier, we have adopted the ES9038PRO converter from ESS Technology, which stands out in the DAC industry for its high-quality audio reproduction of tiny signals. The device’s dedicated master clock uses an ultra-low phase noise crystal oscillator to achieve high-precision D/A conversion. It features an eight-channel D/A converter housed within the chip that applies a four-channel down-conversion. Left and right side, respectively. Utilizing this four-channel package delivers exceptionally high-quality audio output with a wide dynamic range and superior signal-to-noise ratio. This unlocks a greater sense of enjoyment when listening with headphones, where you can intimately experience even the background noises of the concert hall and the most minute details of instrument sounds.

DISCREET CONSTRUCTION AND BALANCED TRANSMISSION

All main stages after the DAC are unified with balanced circuits and discrete configuration, achieving fully balanced transmission from the output of the D/A converter to the headphone jack. In addition, balanced conversion is performed internally for ordinary single-ended (unbalanced) inputs, providing the unique advantages of balanced transmission and amplification, such as minimizing external noise and sound quality deterioration and applying them to a wide range of input sources. Additionally, when combined with headphones that support balanced transmission, the common impedance of the transmission system is suppressed, further improving signal separation, which is crucial for quality headphone listening.

DYNAMIC

To fully convey the contrast between serene stillness and the powerfully dramatic movement of sound, the amplifier adopts two toroidal transformers and features a unique and highly rigid construction. Without compromising, we have achieved a low-frequency response with excellent response to tiny sounds, luxurious volume, and extraordinary transparency to ensure accurate reproduction of all types of content with dynamic and realistic sound.

LOW-FREQUENCY REPRODUCTION AND REMARKABLE SPACIOUSNESS OF DUAL TOROIDAL TRANSFORMERS

The power supply section employs independent transformers for the tiny signal circuits in the front stage and the amplifier section in the second stage. It implements an independent power supply design that minimizes noise due to mutual signal interference. In addition, the use of toroidal transformers significantly reduces magnetic flux leakage. In addition, using a bifilar winding minimizes voltage variations, which improves the power supply’s stability and achieves overwhelming amplitude with powerful low-frequency reproduction.

HIGH RIGIDITY CONSTRUCTION – ELIMINATION OF SONIC IMPACTS FROM VIBRATION

To eliminate any detrimental impact of external and internal vibrations on audio signals, we have given the unit a robust construction that combines an original design concept with high-rigidity parts. An 8mm thick extruded aluminum panel forms the L-shaped top surface, while the naturally vibrating toroidal transformer is firmly mounted on a 2mm thick steel plate. A thick front panel, dual back panel, and unique case design with a bottom cover on the end provide even stronger support. Through this rugged housing, unnecessary vibrations are suppressed, enabling powerful yet flexible low-frequency reproduction and allowing you to fully feel the powerful energy and genuine realism contained in the music.

SOLID METAL FEET FOR STABILITY

The distinctive L-shaped HA-L7A is supported by five conical steel feet at each corner of the chassis, with padded shock absorbers between each foot and the bottom panel that effectively suppress any vibration, allowing firm and stable support even on a desk or table. Together with the heavy 5.3kg body, all elements eliminate unwanted vibrations for focused, realistic sound reproduction.
