The latest firmware update is available for the Yamaha RX-V4A, RX-V6A, RX-A2A, RX-A4A, RX-A6A and RX-A8A receivers. These models can be equipped with the latest software via the MusicCast app, which adds support for VRR (Variable Refresh Rates) and ALLM (Auto Low Latency Mode).
Roomy a year ago Yamaha released the RX-A4A, RX-A6A and RX-A8A AV receivers. Although these models are equipped with HDMI 2.1 quite a few important features were missing from this standard. In April, Yamaha released its first update out, which added support for HDR10+, 4K120, and 8K120.
According to Yamaha, a next update will add some new features of HDMI 2.1, including QMS (Quick Media Switching) and QFT (Quick Frame Transport).
