The Xbox One has just received a major update. The update has the name Xbox One October 2018 update and brings new Xbox Live Avatars, Dolby Vision support for Netflix and an Alexa skill to control the game console with an Echo speaker.
The update brings the new Xbox Live Avatars that you will encounter anywhere on the game console, such as on your profile, activity feed, gamerscore leaderboards and more. Through the Avatar Editor you easily create an Avatar and you can choose a body and clothing, including items from games like Halo or Gears of War. Do you prefer the Xbox Original Avatar? Through the editor you can compare and choose which version you prefer to use.
In addition, the update brings Dolby Vision support for Netflix. You will obviously need a television that supports Dolby Vision and you need an Xbox One S or One X. You can easily enable Dolby Vision via the settings on the system.
Operating Xbox One via Cortana and Alexa
In addition, the Xbox Skill for Cortana and Alexa is now available. For the time being unfortunately only in the United States. So you can now use your voice to turn on the game computer, start a game or, for example, take a screenshot.
The Xbox One October 2018 update should now be available worldwide.
