After long wait at last: the first Marvel Cinematic Universe series WandaVision series release date has announced. WandaVision will be released in early 2021.
WandaVision is coming to Disney + next year
WandaVision series release date has been announced and the first installment of the Marvel Cinematic Universe series WandaVision will be released on the video streaming service Disney + on January 15, 2021. The company has this via Twitter announced.
The series consists of six episodes of one hour each. Previous rumors mentioned more episodes for the first season: nine to be precise. But that turns out to be wrong. In addition, the series was intended to be released in 2020, but the corona virus has thrown a spanner in the works of the production. Despite this, this is the first Disney + series from Marvel we get to see. The first series that was planned was The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, but it has been moved to sometime in 2021 due to production problems, also due to covid-19.
WandaVision is the first major project Marvel Studios has released since the release of Spider-Man: Far from Home in 2019. The series focuses on the relationship between Scarlett Witch and Vision, following the events of Avengers: Endgame. The series takes us through several decades. And for those decades other ways of filming and design have also been used. For example, the first episode was filmed in black and white and with a live audience.
The series promises to showcase multiple characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Think for example of Darcy Lewis (Kat Dennings) from Thor and Thor: The Dark World and Agent Jimmy Woo (Randall Park) from Ant-Man and The Wasp. In addition, actress Kathryn Hahn also plays on the show and Teyonah Parris takes on the role of an adult version of Monica Rambeau, who we saw earlier in Captain Marvel.
