Vivid Audio Moya M1 Ultra-Premium Loudspeaker

Introducing Vivid Audio Moya M1 Ultra-Premium Loudspeaker - A NEW SUMMIT IN SPEAKER ENGINEERING

For over 20 years, Vivid Audio has developed innovative speakers to consistent critical acclaim. Like any high-end audio company, we constantly look for ways to go above and beyond.

Therefore, we are delighted to announce the introduction of a completely new ultra-premium speaker: the Moya M1. This will be the new flagship of the range. As always, the Moya M1 was developed according to Vivid Audio’s guiding principle: form must follow function.

Like many great ideas, the Vivid Audio Moya M1 started as a sketch. Quarantined in a hotel room during the pandemic, designer Laurence Dickie had time to dream of a speaker that could do it all. The culmination of a lifetime in search of perfection in acoustic design.

A speaker so imbued with power and authority that it would handle any music with grace and effortlessness.

The first thing that catches your eye when you see the M1 is the imposing stack of subwoofers: eight legendary C225-100H speakers, each capable of handling 800W, arranged in a new high-thrust configuration. This is an incredible display of power!

The low-frequency section played a huge role in developing the Moya M1. During the testing process, a key finding emerged: widening a speaker’s bass response also improved the insight into the higher frequency bands.

Each pair of drivers is arranged horizontally opposed on either side of the bass module, with magnets held together by a substantial steel bar to eliminate reaction forces and the need for a heavy enclosure.

Vivid Audio’s generously proportioned feedback cancellation ports eliminate cabinet vibration and minimize turbulent effects that could limit bass linearity.

Of course, any large speaker can play loud volumes. It was also critical to the team that the listener distinguish the subtlest details, even amid the din of an orchestral crescendo or an explosive drum solo. After all, power is nothing without control.

New diamond-like coated (DLC) tweeters further enhance the experience. This material can be applied to the surface of aluminum domes at a temperature well below the melting point.

The contrasting properties between the DLC and the aluminum substrate increased the shear losses and significantly dampened the “Q” of rupture—a little black magic that goes a long way toward improving the listening experience!

Thanks to passive, wired, computer-optimized filters (built in-house), Moya M1 delivers smoothness, precision, and phase matching previously thought possible only with active systems.

Ultimately, the Moya M1 delivers clarity and precision to the nth degree while also reproducing rock concert-level sound in your living room. From an organ symphony on a huge Cavaillé-Coll instrument to the bass of a ’90s house anthem, the Moya M1 delivers sonic thrills in every octave.

The Vivid Audio Moya M1 has a 5-way, 13-speaker design.

Four extensively reinforced bass boxes, each featuring two C225 bass drivers in feedback cancellation modes with aerodynamically optimized bass ports, are complemented by two C175 mid-bass drivers, one C100 midrange, and one D50 upper midrange. and a D26 tweeter.

All drivers are developed from our existing speakers and optimized for use in the Moya M1. The speaker uses a three-part passive five-way, fourth-order Linkwitz-Riley crossover, where the mid and treble sections are far from the bass sections.

The Moya M1 is manufactured entirely in-house, allowing complete control over every facet of the build process. To meet our exacting standards, we craft, assemble, and finish each piece in-house by hand.
