After several years of success, it was also time for Vincent to overhaul his reference SA-T7 preamp. As with their TubeLine integrated amps, they have modernized the design and removed the chrome rings.
In addition, they have added a Bluetooth input (Vers. 5.0) to the preamplifier. Therefore, music can be easily transferred from any mobile phone or tablet to the amplifier.
Engineer Frank Blöhbaum’s BestPentode circuit is still used, which eliminates electrical current noise typical of pentodes. Because modern signal sources have different requirements for the transmission quality of an amplifier, traditional (classical) circuit technology and ECC81/82/83/88 do not cover the full potential of tube technology.
The BestPentode stage they use has much higher gain with less noise than comparable triodes. The E180F / 6SCH9P / 6SCH51P grid pentodes used in the SA-T7 MK can thus develop their full potential. The tubes are new old stock (NOS) from storage that was used to amplify high frequency signals 24/7 in telecommunications.
