Triangle launches active version of BR03 and Triangle Borea BR02 BT speakers – Triangle aims to take the success of its passive designs into an easy-to-use all-in-one package, including bluetooth aptX that allows wireless playback of audio up to 24-bit/48kHz. However, Triangle has chosen not to add WiFi streaming to the speakers.
Instead, there are physical connectivity options, including an optical input, a coaxial input, a 3.5mm port, subwoofer connections and a pair of RCA jacks that can be configured as MM phono inputs. Triangle has developed a matching turntable together with Pro-Ject especially for this, which will be available from September.
The BR02 BT delivers 50 watts of power per channel to its 13cm mid/bass drivers and EFS dome tweeters, while the BR03 BT has 60 watts of power and larger, 16.5cm mid/bass drivers. The loudspeakers function according to the master/slave principle, whereby one of the two loudspeakers has a built-in amplifier. Between the two speakers is 3 meters of cable.
The Triangle Borea BR02 BT and BR03 BT are for sale for EUR 499 and EUR 599 respectively.
