The Last of Us series details revealed

Earlier it was revealed that the company interested in a series on The Last of Us. Series creator, game developer Neil Druckmann, works as a writer and executive producer, along with Craig Mazin. Mazin was previously responsible for the gripping series Chernobyl, on the same channel. In addition, we see Carolyn Strauss, an executive producer for Game of Thrones and Chernobyl, also becoming an executive producer for the Last of Us series.

The synopsis of the production reveals that the upcoming series will focus on the story of the first video game, released by Sony years ago for the PlayStation 3 (and later the PlayStation 4 as well). The tenor is as follows:

The story takes place twenty years after modern civilization has been destroyed. Joel, a hardened survivor, is hired to smuggle Ellie, a 14-year-old girl, out of an oppressive quarantine zone. What starts as a small job soon becomes a brutal, heartbreaking journey, as they both must traverse across the US and depend on each other for survival.

The world of video game movies and series is full of failed projects. Therefore, expectations are not very high when such projects are announced. However, the new HBO series does offer hope on the horizon. It is almost never the case that the original writer and creative director of a video game collaborates on an adaptation. Perhaps this offers the guarantee of success, in the translation from video game to television series.

It must be said that the project is still at an early stage. It is not yet known who will take on the famous roles of Joel and Ellie. It is also not yet clear when the series can be seen at HBO. Meanwhile, Sony is working on the filming of yet another big PlayStation title: Uncharted. In it we see none other than Spider-man actor Tom Holland in the role of protagonist Nathan Drake.
