The Best LCD LED TVs and OLED TVs of 2020/2021

We have seen a lot of televisions this year, and have tested a large number of them extensively. The overview below with the Best LCD LED TVs and OLED TVs of 2020/2021 is determined by looking at our own reviews, experiences of other experts and readers, the developments in the market and the prices of the relevant televisions. We have not used a special order in the overview of the best TVs. We do not distinguish between LCD and OLED: both techniques are included in this list.

LG OLED48CX6LB (CX series)

LG has released a large number of new televisions at the beginning of 2020, including various series with OLED models. The great thing is that the image quality of the low CX series is the same as that of the high WX series. So if design doesn’t play a big role for you and you still let the sound run through a soundbar or home cinema system (or don’t care much about an impressive sound) then the CX series is an excellent choice.

The series consists of 48-inch, 55-inch, 65-inch, and 77-inch sizes. Both the 48-inch and 65-inch versions were tested by us, with a high score as a result. Unfortunately, the price drop of the 48-inch model has not yet started, but considering the fact that this smaller format is now finally available and the image quality is impressive, the 48-inch CX series should not be missing from our overview. Can it be a size bigger? Then the 55-inch, 65-inch and even 77-inch variants are definitely recommended. Oh, and HDMI 2.1 is of course also present on all models.

Panasonic TX-65HZW2004 (HZW2004 series)

If you are looking for an absolute top model, then you have come to the right place with the Panasonic HZW2004 series. Panasonic has equipped these OLED TVs with Master HDR OLED Professional Edition screens. Simply put, this means that the Japanese manufacturer has partnered with Hollywood experts to provide the best possible image quality and most faithful reproduction possible. Explained a little more extensively, this means that Panasonic can enable higher brightness through additional cooling behind the screen.

In addition, the HZW2004 models come with built-in Dolby Atmos speakers on top of the television, a powerful processor, support for all major HDR formats and My Home Screen 5.0 as a smart TV platform. A 55-inch and a 65-inch variant is available.

Partly for this reason, the OLED935 is one of the best TVs of the moment.

Not an 8K top model from Samsung in this list of best TVs, but a 4K top model. The Samsung Q95T series is the flagship in the field of 4K and shows that Samsung has made great strides with the QLED technology in recent years. The models in this series offer very good image quality with high brightness, a wide viewing angle and impressive contrast.

LG OLED65GX6LA (GX series)

The honorable mention of this overview of the best televisions goes to the LG GX series. The image quality is comparable to that of the CX series, but what makes the GX series unique is that they are the first OLED TVs that can be hung flat against the wall. LG has managed to remove the well-known ‘hump’ on the back of an OLED TV and to process all the electronics in a super slim housing. So if you are looking for an OLED television that can be hung on the wall like a painting, then the GX series is absolutely recommended. You can choose from a 55-inch, a 65-inch and a 77-inch variant.
