Tedee Go is a cheaper smart lock with Thread support

Tedee Go is a cheaper smart lock with Thread support. The new version is a lot bigger than the already existing model.

Tedee will announce the new slot during IFA 2022, which will take place in Berlin. The new version is a lot bigger than the already existing model. The Go works with your own cylinder and key and should therefore be somewhat more accessible. In addition, the Polish manufacturer wants to appeal to people with the lower recommended price and support for Thread.

The Tedee Go

If you want to install the first smart lock from Tedee, you have to replace the cylinder of your front or back door. Not everyone is in the mood for that; some people may not know how to do that at all. As a result, as a company you cannot serve part of the market; the Go should solve the problem by making the installation easier in any case.

You simply connect the Tedee Go to your current cylinder using your own key. The smart lock then simply opens the lock as you would when you press the button, or when you arrive (depending on your settings). It is then unclear whether the panic function works and whether you can still open the lock from the outside, as we can with the regular variant (one of the reasons to be enthusiastic about that version).

The Tedee Go has dimensions of Ø 45 by 55 mm or Ø 57 by 63 mm and is made of plastic. Furthermore, the Go works on rechargeable batteries and therefore does not have a built-in battery. The price is accordingly, with a price tag of about 200 euros. The smart lock may appear at the beginning of 2023. The premium model will also receive support for Thread in the future – through a software update.
