Technics completes its new True Wireless range with the presentation of its new EAH-AZ40M2 headphones, a new generation with excellent sound and a lightweight and compact design. Alongside the recently launched EAH-AZ80 and EAH-AZ60M2, the new AZ40M2 models offer outstanding sound quality with the addition of Active Noise Canceling technology and unmatched comfort for any environment or activity.
On this occasion, Technics has applied its deep experience as a legendary audio equipment brand to develop a new generation of True Wireless headphones with attention to detail. Specifically, the AZ40M2 feature advanced mechanical structure design and digital signal processing technology to ensure maximum sound clarity for every song or phone call.
In addition, as the main novelty, this new model offers the possibility of activating noise cancellation technology without interruptions, facilitates seamless switching between up to three devices with simultaneous multipoint Bluetooth® connection and ensures a wide variety of customization settings for adapt the units to any lifestyle.
Superior sound Technics and wireless
The new EAH-AZ40M2 headphones provide the high-quality sound that Technics has been known for throughout its 55-year history. The headphones incorporate a 6mm driver that channels clear audio output with greater spaciousness and depth. Despite its compact design, the AZ40M2 features an Acoustic Control Chamber that optimizes airflow so songs and other midranges sound natural, as well as projecting powerful bass and a harmonizer that softens the highs to create a dynamic range of sound with less distortion. The result is rich, immersive, and expansive sound with smooth, detailed nuances, letting you hear every last detail.
In addition, the EAH-AZ40M2 offers Hi-Res Audio quality with Bluetooth® and LDAC technology, capable of ensuring a wide dynamic range of sound with fast response and high definition.
Immersive noise cancellation technology
The EAH-AZ40M2 improves on its predecessor, the EAH-AZ40, by adding Technics active noise cancellation technology, allowing users to immerse themselves in music or work without distraction fully. A digital software filter and feedback microphone effectively suppress noise from outside the headphones to deliver high levels of noise cancellation.
Noise cancellation levels can vary significantly from person to person due to different ear shapes and other factors. For this reason, four different sizes of ear tips are included to find the perfect fit, ranging from extra small to large.
Smart and intuitive features
Bluetooth® multi-point connection allows AZ40M2 units to connect simultaneously to 3 devices, making it seamless to switch between sources and easy to attend meetings while managing a call or playing music. In addition, the AZ40M2 includes Beamforming technology to ensure clear conversations. In this way, incorporating two MEMS microphones makes it possible to actively isolate the voice and reduce the environment’s noise when the user answers a call or maintains a direct conversation in telematic meetings.
Furthermore, the AZ40M2 can be freely used with either the left or right earphones. Using the Technics Audio Connect app, tap-and-hold, single-, double- and triple-tap actions (such as volume up/down, fast forward/backward, ambient mode on/off, and noise canceling) can be adjusted ) to adapt them to your own needs. Specific actions can even be assigned to one or the other headset, enhancing the user experience and increasing the units’ versatility.
In addition, the AZ40M2 is equipped with unique ambient sound modes that can be set to “Natural Ambient” or “Attention” mode. On the one hand, the “Natural environment” mode captures all the ambient noise, which allows you to listen to music or talk on the phone while paying attention to your surroundings. For its part, the “Attention” mode captures the sounds of the human voice, ensuring that conversations of people nearby, such as announcements at the airport or the voice of a family member at home, can be heard simultaneously. At the same time, other unwanted external noises are reduced.
Thanks to the long battery life, the AZ40M2 can continue to perform optimally, even with noise cancellation for much longer. These compact headphones allow 7 hours on a single charge, with a full charge of up to 24 hours in the compact case. With active noise cancellation turned on, they offer 5.5 hours of music playback, with 18 hours on the base.
The Technics Audio Connect app makes it easy to set up and control the EAH-AZ40M2, offering voice assistant support and the ability to customize sound mode settings. Battery control function, super bass equalizer, and the ability to toggle between voice guidance and sound effect guidance are the new settings the app offers.
In turn, the AZ40M2 have a high water resistance that meets the IPX4 standard and guarantees the optimal operation of the units even if water splashes on them from any direction. In terms of connectivity, the AZ40M2 also integrates compatibility with Alexa.
The AZ40M2 is available in black, silver, and rose gold. Very compact and portable, the dock also features a high-quality finish and engraved Technics logo for a premium feel.
The new Technics AZ40M2 units will be available from June 2023 at authorized Technics dealers starting at €149.99.
