Sony today presented the new smartphones of 2022. In addition to the cheaper Sony Xperia 10 IV, there is the new flagship, the Sony Xperia 1 IV (read: Mark 4). The new smartphone once again emphasizes taking photos and videos and comes with lightning-fast hardware.
Photos and videos
The Sony Xperia 1 IV is the first device with a true optical telephoto zoom lens (85-125mm). In addition, we find an ultra-wide 16 mm lens and a wide 24 mm lens on board. All lenses feature a 12 MP Exmor RS for mobile image sensor at 120 fps. The new smartphone can shoot in 4K 120 fps with any lens for videos with 5x slow motion and Real-time Eye Autofocus and Real-time tracking for photos. The 3D iToF sensor and artificial intelligence help with depth and object recognition. The ZEISS optics and ZEISS T-coating should also contribute to accurate rendering and contrast by reducing reflections as much as possible.
The device again features Photography Pro and Videography Pro and adopts technology from the Sony Alpha SLR cameras, allowing consumers to change all settings down to the last detail. On the front we also find a selfie camera of 12 megapixels with a larger image sensor than in the previous generations. You can also take selfies in 4K HDR.
Also for entertainment
In addition to the attention to the camera options, the rest of the hardware is also fine. The Sony Xperia 1 IV features a 6.5-inch 4K HDR OLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate. The screen should be 50 percent brighter than the predecessor. The device runs on the fast Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 with 12 GB RAM and 256 GB storage memory. The battery has a capacity of 5,000 mAh and can also be charged wirelessly. Wired fast charging provides 50% battery in 30 minutes. IP65/68, the 21:9 display and full-stage stereo speakers with 360 Reality Audio complete the device.
Price and availability of Sony Xperia 1 IV
