Sony launches cheaper A75K series OLED TVs

Sony launches cheaper A75K series OLED TVs as Sony aims to compete with the cheaper series in competition with other manufacturers.

Sony launches cheaper A75K series OLED TVs: Last month at CES 2022, Sony announced the first part of its 2022 TV lineup including the A80K and A90K series that use the OLED technology. There is now another series; the A75K series. Sony is going to compete with the cheaper series that other manufacturers also release.

Sony’s A75K series uses a standard (probably 2021) panel from LG Display and features the 4K resolution with full HDR support. The panel has a 120Hz refresh rate and the TV is equipped with Google TV as a smart TV platform. HDMI 2.1 ports with 4K120 and VRR are also present and under the hood we see the Cognitive Processor XR from Sony.

Now those specifications match the more expensive models that Sony has released, so what makes this model cheaper? The design is slightly simpler and the Acoustic Surface Audio system is less advanced. These are minimal differences so we should not expect prices that are at the same level as, for example, the LG A Series oled tvs.

The A75K series comes in a 55-inch and a 65-inch variant on the market. Later, Sony will announce the prices and full specifications.
