Last year Sonos announced that it planned to bring support from Apple’s AirPlay 2 to its speakers. Now, however, it appears that not all Sonos devices are provided for this; only the most recent devices will have the functionality.
Sonos and AirPlay 2
AirPlay 2 is an important feature within Apple’s iOS mobile operating system, which allows users of iPhones and iPads to get audio from just about any app to transfer to his speakers. The software is not yet released for the time being – Apple is still busy testing it.
Nevertheless, Sonos has already released a list with the devices that it will provide support for AirPlay 2. These speakers are:  Older Sonos products, including Play: 1, Play: 3 and Playbar do not support AirPlay 2. At the same time, Sonos reports that if you have one speaker that offers support for it, you can connect it to the rest and still be able to use the functionality.
By integrating the Apple software into its products, Sonos also immediately adds support for Apple assistant Siri. It is also possible to use Amazon assistant Alexa on the speakers of the company. And last October, he promised that Google Assistant will also come to the speakers.
