Sonos is working on a smaller and cheaper subwoofer Sub Mini

Sonos is working on a smaller and cheaper subwoofer Sub Mini. Further details about the hardware are also unknown at this time.

Website The Verge brings the news out and immediately comes with the first 3d render. We see a round and rather narrow tube with a flat top and bottom. Sonos currently only has the Sonos Sub Gen3 in its range. And that is a subwoofer with a suggested retail price of 849 euros. A cheaper subwoofer Sub Mini model could therefore appeal to a whole new target group.

The Sub Mini, like the much more expensive Sub Gen3, also has an opening in the side and should work similar internally, albeit with smaller and less powerful parts. According to The Verge, the Sonos Sub Mini is codenamed S37. And that follows exactly on the S36 of the recently introduced Sonos Rayor the brand’s new and cheap soundbar.

cheaper subwoofer Sub Mini already accidentally popped up in the Sonos app

What the new subwoofer will cost exactly and when the release date is, nobody knows at the moment. It is not at all a surprise, because Sonos accidentally posted a few months ago information about the new subwoofer in its own app. The name Sub Mini was already announced at that time. Further details about the hardware are also unknown at this time. As soon as Sonos officially announces the new and smaller subwoofer, we will of course let you know.
