Somfy Tahoma with HomeKit support: At least that is reported by the German website iFun.de, who writes that the European smart home manufacturer is taking the final steps regarding Apple HomeKit integration for the Somfy Tahoma system. In particular, this concerns the gateway of the system, which controls all other connected devices in the house. The site announces that the support will arrive on December 1. Somfy previously announced that it is working on such support, but so far we have heard nothing more about it. Now the bullet seems to have gone through the church.

The Somfy Tahoma gateway allows you to control a number of devices in the house, including the shutter and blinds that work with the system. As a result, from December it is also possible to control those parts in your smart home with Siri, Apple’s voice assistant, and HomeKit, Apple’s smart home system. The manufacturer previously added support for HomeKit to other devices, such as the outdoor camera and the indoor camera.

The Somfy Tahoma gateway can also be used to control all kinds of other devices in the house, such as lamps, fences, garage doors, smart sockets and more. Tahoma is already compatible with Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa and IFTT and can also be integrated with Sonos, Philips Hue and Velux. Initially, the purchase of such a gateway may seem to be quite pricey, but there are many possibilities. In our review of the system, we go deeper into the product. So read all about that in this article.
