Sharp unveils FQ5/FQ8 Google TVs for Europe- Sharp will launch the new FQ8 and FQ5 series in 2024. They are the same televisions, except for a few minor changes

Sharp will launch the new FQ8 and FQ5 series in 2024. They are the same televisions, except for a few minor changes. Both models are equipped with the Google TV smart TV platform, have HDMI 2.1 ports, and have a 144Hz refresh rate.

Sharp’s new FQ8 and FQ5 series are 4K models supporting HFR (High Frame Rate) and VRR (Variable Refresh Rate). They also have a light sensor that adjusts the display to the ambient light. HDR support is available in HDR10, HLG, and Dolby Vision IQ. The VA LCD panel uses direct LED backlighting but without local dimming. The maximum brightness is 450 nits, 92 percent of the DCI-P3 color range.

In addition, the new models are equipped with two 15-watt speakers, Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, and an aluminum frame. There is also a built-in platform with which wireless Sharp speakers can be linked to the TV.

These new televisions’ prices and exact launch dates will be announced later.
