Sennheiser CX True Wireless – technology & equipment

Responsible for the sound are dynamic TrueResponse drivers developed in-house, which should be characterized by profound bass, accurate midrange reproduction and detailed high frequency range. With the help of the Smart Control app from Sennheiser, various DSP settings can be called up, for example a bass boost or optimization for podcasts and / or phone calls. The integrated EQ also allows individual sound adjustment.

Two microphones are used per earphone, which ensures good voice quality for calls – even when using a single earphone. Another clever function is called “Sidetone”: Users can hear their own voice during phone calls, to an extent that can be adjusted using a virtual slide control. The entire audio signal can also be assigned to a single earphone if desired.

Incidentally, the intuitive touch surface can be customized – so users can determine for themselves whether, for example, the control of audio content, access to voice assistants such as Siri or Google Assistant or other functions can be called up.

The Sennheiser CX True Wireless supports the codecs SBC, apt-X and AAC as well as the Bluetooth 5.2 protocol. The headphones have a battery life of nine hours, which can be supplemented by a further 27 hours with the charging case. Adapters are available in four different sizes for a secure fit in the ear and good attenuation of outside noise. Also worth mentioning is the protection against splash water, which is certified according to the IPX4 standard.
