The Sennheiser AMBEO Soundbar appeared two years ago. This soundbar was made by us awarded with an FWD Excellent Award. In particular, the unseen surround performance, the excellent sounds (also for music) and the excellent app stood out. The downside was the high price and that is still the case today. Sennheiser continues to support the AMBEO. A new firmware update brings Sony 360 Reality Audio to this premium soundbar.
Maximilian Voigt, product manager at Sennheiser is happy with the update:
“We are delighted that our AMBEO Soundbar, with its unimaginably immersive 3D sound, now also supports 360 Reality Audio from Sony”, “To stream music and enjoy amazing spatial sound, our customers now only need the latest firmware. update. They don’t even need extra equipment: it couldn’t be more convenient. ”
The Sennheiser AMBEO Soundbar already supported 3D audio formats such as Dolby Atmos, MPEG-H and DTS: X. Now 360 Reality Audio from Sony has also been added. This is based on the 360 Spatial Sound technology in which individual sounds such as vocals, a piano, guitar or bass are placed as audio objects in a spherical sound field.
Firmware update available immediately
The new firmware update allows users with this soundbar to access 360 Reality Audio content via Google Chromecast. The update is available immediately. This way you can stream music in 3d without the need for additional equipment. According to Sennheiser, you can currently access live music with 360 Reality Audio via Chromecast nugs.net and more services are expected to be added.
