Samsung S95B QD-OLED television: Prices and specifications: Samsung will release its first in the second quarter – probably in May – QD-OLED television on the market. This model uses the well-known OLED technology and the quantum dot technology. The television will be given the name S95B and will be marketed in a 55-inch and a 65-inch variant. Samsung has not yet announced anything about the prices.

Samsung OLED TV

It is striking that Samsung does not use the term QD-OLED, unlike Sony† The reason will mainly be found in the fact that competitor LG also uses OLED and Samsung is only too happy to compete directly with it. Samsung OLED, as the company calls it, combines the performance of the Neural Quantum Processor 4K and the intelligence of the Tizen platform with the sound of Samsung Object Tracking Sound and Q-Symphony with Dolby Atmos. The whole is brought together in a slim LaserSlim design. Furthermore, the S95B has an OLED brightness amplifier for a slightly higher peak brightness.

Samsung has also announced more details on the American website. For example, the OLED television has the 4K resolution and a refresh rate of 144Hz. HDR is supported in the form of HDR10, HLG and HDR10+. HDMI 2.1 is also present and the TV has a filter that should prevent reflections. The S95B uses Samsung’s Motion Xcelerator Turbo+ to counteract lag and blur. In the field of audio, a 60 Watt 2.2.2-channel audio system with support for Dolby Atmos is present. The smart TV platform is Tizen, which includes support for the Google Assistant and Samsung SmartThings.

Prices Samsung QD-OLED TV

Contrary to previous expectations, the prices are not too bad for the time being. In the United States, the 55-inch variant will cost $ 2,200, while the 65-inch variant should cost $ 3,000. However, it must be added here that you can only place the TV on a foot for these amounts. If you want to hang the TV, it will cost you $120 for the option (adapter probably) and another minimum of $240 for an included wall mount. In addition, for the Dutch prices you still have to take into account taxes that are added to this. Samsung has not yet announced the exact prices in euros.
