Samsung launches Neo QLED

Neo QLED can be found in the top models this year, including the QN900A series with the 8K resolution and the QN95A series with 4K resolution. The QN900A series features the slim Infinity One Design with virtually borderless screen. With the Slim One Connect box you can easily and efficiently hide the cables. This slim box with all connections and power supply can be found on all models from the QN95A series. The TVs also come with HDMI 2.1 with 4K120, VRR (Variable Refresh Rate), ALLM (Auto Low Latency Mode) and eARC (enhanced Audio Return Channel).

The Object Tracking Sound (OTS) function is known from last year and can also be found on many models this year. With the Pro variant of this technique, the sound follows the images with additional speakers at the top, side and bottom of the screen. OTS Lite can be found on cheaper QLED televisions and in addition to speakers at the bottom of the screen, it brings virtual speakers for the height effects. All QLED models also come with SpaceFit Sound, which ensures that the audio reproduction is adapted to the room.

Samsung has also made improvements in the field of smart functions. With Super Ultrawide GameView, for example, as a gamer you have the choice to play in the 21: 9 aspect ratio, but you can also switch to 32: 9. And with Game Bar you can quickly adjust settings, for example switching aspect ratios, checking input delay or connecting a headset. PC on TV also makes working and learning from home easier. You connect your computer to your Samsung TV and work with a mouse and keyboard. Or you install the Easy Connection app on your computer and thus have direct access to MS Office 365 via the TV browser to edit and create documents.

Micro-LED

In addition to Mini-LED, Samsung will also come with Micro-LED in 2021. You can read the difference between the two techniques in us background piece on Mini-LED versus Micro-LED but simply put, Mini-LED is an evolution and Micro-LED is a revolution. With Micro-LED, the pixels themselves are very small LEDs and we are therefore talking about a completely new display technology, without filters or background lighting. Samsung markets Micro-LED televisions in two sizes: 110-inch and 99-inch. Smaller sizes will follow later this year.

Micro-LED makes it possible to work with a 99% screen-to-body ratio and Samsung introduces Quad Multi View that allows you to monitor four different content sources simultaneously on the screen. Finally, Majestic Sound is good for a 5.1-channel sound without an external speaker.

New The Frame

In the field of lifestyle televisions, Samsung introduces a new version of The Frame, the TV whose screen turns into a work of art in off mode. The 2021 version comes with a slimmer design. The frame comes in five colors and two customizable styles – modern and with a beveled edge – so that you can adapt it to the space where the The Frame will be placed or hung.

Solar powered remote control

And finally, a striking piece of news with which Samsung wants to demonstrate its commitment to sustainability. The Samsung TVs from 2021 have a solar-powered remote control, which can be charged with indoor and outdoor lighting and USB. According to Samsung, this saves an estimated 99 million AAA batteries in seven years. In addition, recycled plastic bottles are used for the production of the remote control.

In the coming weeks, all details about the Samsung televisions for 2021 will be released and, as every year, we will publish a complete overview of the line-up.
