Samsung launches two new soundbars With Dolby Atmos and DTS:x

The latest generation of soundbars from Samsung is fully equipped . The Korean manufacturer opts for integration of both Dolby Atmos and DTS:X. The top model, the HW-N950 was even developed in collaboration with Harman Kardon, the audio company that was acquired by Samsung last year, and wireless rear speakers are available.

Samsung HW-N950

The Samsung HW-N950 is a 7.1.4-channel soundbar, with speakers that direct sound towards the ceiling and the sides, so that a surround effect can be generated through reflections in the room. Also comes the soundbar with two wireless rear speakers that also have upfiring modules, and a wireless subwoofer.

Furthermore, the HW-N950 is equipped with support for hi-res audio, you can stream music via WiFi or bluetooth, there is an HDMI port with ARC present and you can use one of the two HDMI inputs to connect components. There is also full support for 4K Ultra HD and HDR (including HDR10+ and Dolby Vision).

Samsung HW-N850

A little lower we see the HW-N850 back. This soundbar is equal to its more expensive brother, but comes without the wireless rear speakers in the box. The HW-N850 is thus a 5.1.2.-channel soundbar, filled with 13 speakers, including two upfiring and two sidefiring variants. Also the wireless subwoofer is present and if you still want to add the wireless rear speakers afterwards you can purchase these separately.

Price and availability

The new soundbars from Samsung have to start from the end of this month already appear in stores. The HW-N950 receives a suggested retail price of 1,499 euros, while the HW-N850 costs 999 euros.
