Samsung announces Odyssey OLED G8 gaming monitor which is equipped with Micro HDMI (2.1), Mini DP (1.4) and USB-C ports

The new 34-inch Odyssey OLED G8 is 3.9mm thick at its thinnest point. Furthermore, the device is finished with a metal frame. The monitor’s OLED technology is combined with Quantum Dot technology for deep blacks, infinite contrast and dynamic colors. The monitor is also equipped with many premium gaming features, such as a low response time of 0.1 ms and a refresh rate of 175 Hz.

The ultra-wide, QHD resolution (3,440 x 1,440) gaming monitor has a 21:9 aspect ratio with 100% color volume and a DCI-99.3% color gamut. According to Samsung, the 1800R curvature should provide the perfect view. The OLED monitor is VESA DisplayHDR 400 True Black certified and features AMD FreeSync Premium.

The screen works as a hub for all your entertainment and gives you the option to stream content via Samsung’s Smart Hub. The integrated IoT hub and SmartThings app allow users to manage all IoT devices wirelessly connected to the monitor. For example, the app can help you adjust the temperature and humidity in your home.
