Rotel integrated amplifiers are upgraded with MICHI technology

Rotel integrated amplifiers are upgraded with MICHI technology. These acoustic upgrades for the MICHI series took 3 years to complete.

Rotel announces the acoustic and functional upgrades of three 14- and 15-series Rotel integrated amplifiers models. The upgrades include track design improvements and component-level adjustments at key track points. The basis of the design is based on the well-known MICHI series.

These acoustic upgrades for the MICHI series took 3 years to complete. These techniques have now also been used in the design of the new A14MKII, RA-1572MKII and RA-1592MKII.

The A14 is the flagship model of the Rotel 14 series. Based on the A14, the new A14MKII upgrades include a new Texas Instruments digital to analog converter (DAC) that supports 32-bit / 384kHz audio, as well as 25 component adjustments in the DAC output filters. Component adjustments have also been made to the power supply. The design strategies of Rotel Tribute models were used for this. Additional adjustments to the signal path circuits should provide a richer, fuller sound and more realistic music reproduction. The A14MKII supports all popular sources such as aptX and AAC Bluetooth for wireless streaming, PC-USB up to 32-bit / 384kHz, MQA decoding and processing, analog, digital and a Moving Magnet Phono Stage. The A14MKII is also certified as Roon Tested.

Based on Rotel’s RA-1572 Integrated Amplifier, the RA-1572MKII features major circuit and component upgrades such as a Texas Instruments 32-bit / 384kHz DAC supporting PC-USB 32-bit / 384kHz PCM and Supports MQA decoding and processing. Thanks to more than 33 adjustments to components in the acoustic capacitors, filter capacitors and the power supply, audio is processed with a wider, deeper sound field and improved accuracy and positioning. The Moving Magnet Phono Stage, XLR Balanced, Coax, Optical, RCA, iPod USB on the front and aptX and AAC Bluetooth connections for wireless streaming support all popular sources. The RA-1572MKII’s PC-USB connection is certified as Roon Tested.

Like the flagship model of the Rotel 15 series, the RA-1592MKII also delivers 200 Watts of AB class output power in 8 ohms and better audio quality thanks to the upgrades on all major circuits. Texas Instruments 32-bit / 384kHz DAC circuits feature 12 new coupling capacitors with improved frequency response and even higher component tolerances. The upgraded capacitors have also been used in important signal paths. Thus, the total number of custom components comes to 28 with additional modifications to the power supply circuits. The RA-1592MKII features source inputs such as high quality wireless streaming via Bluetooth with aptX and AAC, MQA decoding and processing via PC-USB, PCM PC-USB audio up to 32-bit / 384kHz, Moving Magnet Phono Stage, Analog, Digital , XLR Balanced and USB on the front panel for iOS devices. The RA-1592MKII is Roon Tested.

All models of Rotel integrated amplifiers  feature Ethernet and RS232 connections for integration with control systems, IR remote control, front panel status display, intelligent power management, Audio-Direct Tone Bypass mode and dual AB 5-way speaker connections. The MKII models are available in silver and black.

The A14MKII, RA-1572MKII and RA-1592MKII are available to order now from authorized Rotel dealers and are expected to ship in early May 2021 in the United States and Canada, and shortly thereafter to the rest of the world. The recommended retail price is EUR 1399 for the A14MKII, EUR 1899 for the RA-1572MKII and EUR 2699 for the RA-1592MKII.
