Packaging
In addition to the smartphone itself, I also found a USB cable in the package, a quick charger with support for 22.5 W charging , which pleasantly surprised me, and a tool for removing the SIM card. Don’t look for anything else in the device package, except for instructions that you will probably never open. So that we don’t forget, a protective foil has already been applied to the smartphone display , for which Honor gets one inch up from me. But is that enough for us to recommend the device?

Construction and design
From the point of view of construction, nothing can be blamed on the device. The device “holds together and does not squeak” whether it does not bend or something similar. The front is filled with a large display with a droplet cutout, in which the camera is hidden. The dimensions of the smartphone are 16.6 cm x 7.7 cm x 0.9 cm.

The edges around the display are not large at all and do not “scream”, while they are large enough to avoid erroneous clicks , for example when playing games where you hold the smartphone with both hands, or when working with a device with one hand. From the bottom you will find a 3.5 jack, an output for a USB Type – C connector , a microphone and a speaker that plays quite loudly, by the way. At the top of the device, you will only find the output for the secondary microphone, which is used primarily to mute the surrounding sound during a call.

In the side edges of the device you will find a slot for two SIM cards, including a microSD card slot . Of course, there is also a volume control or a fingerprint scanner, which is hidden in the power button of the device. Here I must point out that although the sensor may appear small to be able to work correctly, it works accurately and in a flash. Among other things, it is perfectly tangible. In fact, I like this solution more than the scanner located in the back wall.
I would also like to draw your attention to the back of the smartphone, where in addition to the company logo, you will also find a protruding camera module .

As for the feeling from the design of the device, I must say that it did not inspire me much, but it did not disappoint me either.Furthermore, the device for its size seemed quite light to me (206 g). At the same time, compared to other smartphone models, I had a device in my hand that made me feel cheaper. With the second breath, it should be added that it is also quite cheap. Undoubtedly, the plastic back cover contributed to this feeling , but this is not unusual in this price tag.
A better display
The Honor 10X Lite display is 6.67 “in size and is an IPS LCD panel with a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels with a 20: 9 aspect ratio. As I mentioned above, the edges around the device do not scream and are ideal from my point of view. Although I am not a supporter of IPS displays, in this case I can praise him. Huawei has apparently reached for a higher-quality display that renders colors well and is also great to read in direct sunlight.

Among other things, the smartphone’s settings allow you to calibrate colors or select a different color mode. There is also the possibility of customizing their shades. In practice, this means that you can fine-tune the display if you find the colors distorted. There are also various modes, such as the reading mode, when the screen turns yellow. However, I admit that I did not use it in practice. However, what is an interesting function of the display is the e-book mode, when the smartphone “turns off the colors”, resp. turns on monochrome colors.
Equipment performance is “OK”
Smartphone performance is a very individual matter. While one needs to “browse the internet”, another wants to play the latest games. The device is powered by a Huawei Kirin 710A processor. Before I looked at more information about this processor, I was more or less satisfied. The equipment ran very smoothly and responded really fast. In fact, I had no problem – from browsing the Internet, through watching longer videos , to games.
What surprised me, however, is that it is a processor produced by 14-nm technology . By the way, the original processor, on which the “A” version is based, is manufactured using 12-nm technology. Well, at the very least, I’ve found that I’m probably not as demanding of high-performance users as I’ve ever thought. The processor is complemented by 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. In practice, this means that you will play games such as Asphalt 9. What is pleasing, however, is the presence of NFC technology . However, we must add here that currently it is possible to use this technology only for data transmission, or for communication with selected external devices (such as speakers, etc.). However, forget about Google Payments because your device doesn’t support Google Mobile Services. Having drilled into the software, I have to mention thatHuawei is gradually filling the App Gallery with apps , recently introducing Petal Search , which allows you to more or less find all the apps you need, with the exception of Google apps, which don’t work properly. Therefore, if you are not “dependent” on Google services, you can fully exist with the device.
It still won’t let me mention the battery, which I think is one of the main drivers of the device. The battery capacity is 5,000mAh and with the supplied charger it is possible to charge the device to the level of 50% in approximately 30 minutes. You can reach full capacity in about an hour and 30 minutes. As for the durability of the device, the smartphone can be used for 1.5 to 2 days without major problems during active use.
The camera performance of Honor 10X Lite is a big question
The Honor 10X Lite camera is very questionable for me. If I want to be critical, it is disappointing, although I do not know if I can take it as a negative in the price tag of the device. The device has 4 sensors (48 + 8 + 2 + 2), of which in my opinion a macro sensor is unnecessary . The reason is the 2-megapixel resolution. What does this mean in practice? Photos will never be high quality. This resolution is simply insufficient. Also, for focusing objects I had problems especially in the case of distant objects around 10-15 cm from the lens – the focus did not work, and if so, it took a long time until I was able to focus on the subject (All images are compressed to dimensions of 1024 X 768).

On the other hand, “ordinary” photos are sufficient from my point of view. They will not burn, but they will not disappoint . The main sensor has a 48-megapixel resolution, but by default it consists of 4 pixels in one. In other words, the resulting photos are 12-megapixels. Also, the color rendering is quite faithful. I must also say that the device has a night mode, which we recommend using during dusk – the difference in quality can be seen.
As for zooming in on the camera, the resulting photos are not usable in practice , not even for social networks. Below you can see an illustrative example of a 6x zoom.
Among other things, the camera of the device is capable of recording videos in FULL HD quality. But it still didn’t bother me much, although in this case I have to praise the sharpening speed, which in my opinion is fast. After all, judge the quality of the video while walking lower. So I , however, summed up the quality of the camera, so it is sufficient for normal use, capture snapshots , or taking pictures under ideal conditions. However, do not expect the quality of more expensive equipment from the camera.
Honor 10X Lite – Conclusion
The Honor 10X Lite has something in it, but it also has several downsides. I’ll start with the worse – an older processor , which in my opinion will hit its limits in the foreseeable future in 1 to 2 years. We can also argue about the quality of photos . In both cases, however, we must take into account the price of the equipment, which is not so high. In other words, the device is easily sufficient for common tasks. But let’s move on to where it stands out . Well- optimized software and a huge battery of devices which can be a major attraction for many users. For me, the ideal owner of a smartphone are younger years with a limited budget, or unpretentious users who use the smartphone mainly for phone calls, running on the Internet, or on social networks. The smartphone will also find application in the case of older customers – a huge display that is easy to read and, last but not least, great battery life. With less active users, the endurance can be extended for 4 days without much effort. In short, you are going to disappoints the camera, or weaker, though sufficient power. However, it will please the battery life
