Rega ELEX MK4 integrated stereo amplifier

Rega ELEX MK4 integrated stereo amplifier launched which is designed to deliver the purest musical performance.

New Elex MK4

The Elex MK4 is a high performance integrated stereo amplifier designed to deliver the purest musical performance. Housed in a completely new enclosure to match the rest of the Rega range, the MK4 builds on previous Rega designs using our multi-award winning Class A/B power amplifier circuitry, delivering an impressive 72W per channel load into 8 Ω (90 W into 6 Ω).

New rear connectivity options are available with the Elex MK4 which now includes a Rega DAC circuit with two digital inputs and a cleverly integrated high-quality headphone output conveniently located on the front panel.

Bringing your music to life

The Elex MK4 is capable of driving difficult speakers with ease and will integrate seamlessly into any audio system offering a wider range of connectivity options. In addition to line level, digital inputs, and a high-quality moving magnet phono stage, you’ll also find Pre-out and Record Out functionality along with a headphone output.

Special attention has been paid to the selection of key audio components. Discrete circuitry, high quality relays, polypropylene capacitors, and Sanken output transistors are used throughout the design.

amplification circuit

Our engineers have redesigned the entire ELEX circuit board to optimize performance. MK4 builds on previous Rega designs by using our multi-award winning Class A/B power amplifier circuitry to deliver 72W per channel power into 8 Ω loads. This power is provided by a silent multi-stage linear supply, while the supply rails for the digital and analog sections are galvanically isolated.

Digital circuit / DAC

The DAC is closely based on the successful Rega DAC-R circuit. Galvanic/optical isolated digital inputs use a Wolfson S/PDIF receiver IC to provide exceptional detail and clarity from any connected source. The output is provided by a Wolfson DAC and a Rega designed discrete line driver circuit. Our engineers have worked exceptionally hard to ensure that the analog side of the circuit is not affected in any way by the introduction of digital inputs.

MM phono stage

A Rega-designed, high-performance integrated moving magnet (MM) phono stage is carefully integrated into the circuit. The RIAA equalization has been divided into two stages to minimize interaction. Polyester capacitors have been used in the signal path and polypropylene capacitors have been used in RIAA equalization circuits.

headphone output

We have taken great care to incorporate the headphone jack into the Elex MK4. This has been configured in such a way that speaker switching is done via the output mute relay to avoid obstructing the signal path and to ensure no loss of performance when not in use.
