Receivers Onkyo and Pioneer will soon be working with Sonos

Thanks to a firmware update for a large number of Onkyo and Pioneer receivers, these models will soon work with the Sonos app. The update is the result of the Sonos ‘Works With Sonos’ program with which third parties can integrate integration with the speakers.

After running the update, which will be distributed free of charge in June, owners of an Onkyo , Integra or Pioneer receiver use their device within the Sonos ecosystem. This makes it possible to have the receiver function as a Sonos speaker in the network and communicate with it via the Sonos app without the use of an extra hub. It is the ideal solution if you are interested in the Sonos ecosystem but do not want to spend hundreds of euros on brand new speakers. You can now easily integrate your existing (and more premium) audio system with Sonos.

Onkyo announces that a list of all receivers that support Sonos will not be released until the beginning of next month. In any case, it concerns different models of the brands Onkyo, Pioneer, Pioneer Elite and Integra. Incidentally, Sonos will hold an event in June, where we may hear more about the integration of third parties. There is a good chance that several favrikanten av-receivers will start using the ‘Works With Sonos’ program.
