New compact floor-standing speaker Raidho X2t
The search began to make a much improved X2t, using the same improvements of the X1t and more additional ingredients from the ultra-high-end sector.
The X2t does everything the compact X1t does, just on a higher level. Additionally, the X2t has dual woofers with which you get much more bass power and a larger scale for music.
The two 5.25” woofer units of the new X2t are now coated with tantalum. Tantalum belongs to a class of metals known as refractory metals, which are defined by their strong resistance to heat and wear. It has a melting point of 2996 °C, the fourth highest of all metals. This makes the membrane much stiffer and tougher without adding weight and thus raising the breakdown modes to an incredible 15 kHz.
The new X2t crossover has quality components that beat many other speakers up to €80,000. On the back you can see the point-to-point wiring that is all done by hand. Furthermore, the use of Nordost cable in the filter is highly unusual and reveals the enormous attention to detail. It goes without saying that the internal cable is also from Nordost with Nordic technology, which is also used in the Nordost Valhalla models. Truly remarkable.
Other updates from the X2 to the X2t are:
- Better components in the crossover
- Nordost internal wiring
- Complete speaker reset
A special Raidho feature among floorstanding speakers is also the use of a 2.5-way construction. This ensures a very coherent sound from top to bottom, as both speakers output bass, but only the top one outputs midrange. The decoupling of the speakers is integrated into the feet. Therefore, there is no need for tips to achieve the best result, because this is done with metal balls, on which the speakers rest.
The new X2t may not look that different from the original X2, but really, the only thing that remains the same is the visual appearance. The sound performance, on the other hand, is on another planet.
