With the M20, the British manufacturer Q Acoustics has developed a new, compact audio system that accommodates a large number of functions in a small space and is said to be suitable for numerous purposes.
Q Acoustics M20: Features
In principle, it is a master-slave loudspeaker system in which the electronics are built into one of the two boxes and the other is purely passive. The two-way speakers are equipped with a 125 mm bass-midrange speaker and a 22 mm tweeter that starts at 2.4 kHz; a rear bass reflex channel is also on board.
Music can be played digitally via Bluetooth (aptX HD), Toslink or USB-B, there are two additional inputs for analog sources: a cinch double and a stereo jack. In addition, a sub-out is available to optionally call up more depth via an external subwoofer.
For the case, Q Acoustics uses special point-to-point bracing, so those parts of the case should be specifically stiffened that could otherwise be excited to unwanted vibrations.
The built-in switching amplifiers provide 2 x 32 watts (continuous output) at 4 ohms, three DSP presets allow adaptation to the installation location (corner, close to the wall, free). Feet and wall brackets are available for an extra charge.
The Q Acoustics M20 HD music system will be available from September 2021. The price: 499 euros
