prestigious sound
The flagship Synchrony T800 Premium Towers represent the most advanced application of True to Nature sound principles in PSB’s 50-year history. With the largest and most accurate performance of any PSB loudspeaker, the T800 offers a caliber of micro-detail and realism that has never been heard before.
- Frequency response: 21-23,000 Hz (±3 db), 24-20,000 Hz (±1.5 db)
- 3x 203mm (8in) woofers and 1x 133mm (5¼in) midrange driver with woven carbon fiber cones, cast aluminum baskets, massively loaded rubber surrounds, and advanced motor structures
- 1” (25mm) titanium dome with ferrofluid
- Low-resonance MDF cabinet with wide bracing and decoupled aluminum-clad front baffle
- Stabilizers with integrated IsoAcoustics isolators
Advanced loudspeaker platform
The T800’s 8″ (200mm) woofers and 5 ¼″ (135mm) midrange driver feature die-cast aluminum baskets, woven carbon fiber cones, massive load-bearing rubber surrounds, and a rugged structure. advanced motor that maintains a constant magnetic force on the voice coil. The 1″ (25mm) titanium dome tweeter features ferrofluid damping and a neodymium magnet.
The improved speaker platform results in a dramatic reduction in nonlinear distortion, allowing for higher sound pressure levels without compression or increased THD and IM distortion. This can be immediately recognized by a more open midrange and deeper bass impact. The small sound gradations, or micro-dynamics, have been vastly improved compared to all previous drivers. Advanced features of the driver assembly – Faraday rings, short twist, longer voice coil and symmetrical magnetic drive – work in harmony to reduce speaker distortion.
Complementing an upgraded driver is the most advanced perfect-amplitude Linkwitz-Riley fourth-order crossover of any PSB loudspeaker ever used, with high-voltage polyethylene film capacitors and oxygen-free interconnect cable for complete control. of the speaker.
Any noise
A robust, acoustically inert MDF cabinet with aluminum-clad front baffles for maximum rigidity and density make up the Synchrony T800 enclosure. Individually tuned chambers and rear firing ports are placed on each woofer to break up standing waves in the speaker.
At the base of each T800 tower, custom-designed IsoAcoustics integrated isolation feet prevent the mechanical energy produced by the loudspeakers from reflecting back into the cabinet. Together with the stabilizers, the isolators provide a high degree of control and isolation of the speakers, while resisting lateral movement and oscillations to maintain accuracy and alignment with the listening position. Internal reflections with the bearing surface are attenuated, resulting in greater clarity and openness of the sound.
Extended bass response
The T800 features a full 21Hz-23kHz (±3db) frequency bandwidth with well-defined, extended low-frequency performance comparable to a premium subwoofer. With its wide dynamic range, the T800 can reproduce at the volume levels experienced in a live performance, even in large venues. The T800 reproduces the deepest and loudest of any PSB loudspeaker with high efficiency (92dB at 1m) and the lowest distortion at any level.
Using the two provided bass port covers, listeners can tune the bass to control common room resonance issues at low frequencies. This allows them to control the bass output to their liking, allowing for a custom balance of bass with treble for any listening experience.
first class elegance
The T800s are available in two beautiful finishes: Satin Walnut Veneer and High Gloss Black for luxurious appeal. Magnet-mounted acoustically transparent fabric grilles provide a stylish touch that will complement any room’s decor.
