Despite the promotional shot above from Borussia Dortmund in Pro Evolution Soccer 2019, the team will not be in the game. Konami is currently rapidly losing one license after another and that will not produce any positive sounds for the game. Borussia Dortmund’s agreement with Konami has “prematurely ended” the club, the license should have been valid until 2020.
Konami does not let the Borussia Dortmund know about the reason to end the deal. However, it is reported that even though this team appears in promotional screenshots for PES 2019, the team is absent when releasing the final product. Konami can read her statement here.
Borussia Dortmund was the only club from the Bundesliga to appear in the game with her own name. This one is now also lost and with the loss of the UEFA license recently PES 2019 seems to be getting less and less filled.
KONAMI and Borussia Dortmund had a license agreement with respect to the use of Borussia Dortmund’s logos, players, stadium and other features in KONAMI products until June 2020. However this agreement was prematurely terminated by Borussia Dortmund. KONAMI will not include Borussia Dortmund’s logos, players, stage and other features in “PRO EVOLUTION SOCCER 2019”.
