Philips TV line-up 2022 – OLED TVs and LCD LED TVs- TP Vision announced the latest Philips televisions for 2022 last week. The company is introducing two new OLED televisions and an extensive line-up of LCD LED models. The top model for 2022 is the OLED807, equipped with the new OLED.EX panel.

Philips equips a large part of the new televisions with the new P5 processor. It features Ambient Intelligence, which can analyze the current ambient light in the room and adjust brightness, gamut and colors accordingly in real time. With the 6th generation P5 AI you can also indicate your preference by selecting the options Eye Care, Dark Detail Optimization or Color Temperature Optimization.

In addition, almost all Philips 2022 televisions are equipped with Android TV 11 as smart TV platforms and come with DTS Play-Fi. This allows the TV to be part of a multi-room system. The TV can therefore also be used as a center speaker in a surround system. Ambilight is also present in various models and Philips offers support for all HDR formats, including HDR10 + and Dolby Vision. New in 2022 is the addition of IMAX Enhanced. Of course also HDMI 2.1 included, including eArc, VRR support for 4K from 40Hz to 120Hz with a full 48Gbps bandwidth, FreeSync Premium and G-SYNC compatibility, plus Auto Game and Auto Low Latency Modes. A new on-screen game bar provides quick access to picture and sound settings via a simplified menu that allows quick control or adjustment of game settings while gaming.

The OLED807 is the latest OLED television from Philips, equipped with the latest OLED panel from LG Display. This panel goes by the name OLED.EX. The OLED.EX screen replaces hydrogen-based compounds in its construction with more efficient and stable deuterium, resulting in a 30% increase in light output over a standard OLED screen, according to the manufacturer. The lifespan should also be extended with this.

Philips PML9507

The top model LCD TV for 2022 is the PML9507, equipped with mini LED backlighting. To put it simply, the mini LED technology is an improved version of the LCD LED technology that we have seen in recent years. The LCD screen remains as it is, but the backlighting with this technique consists of thousands of small LEDs (so mini LED) that can be controlled in very small groups. The advantages of miniLED are a higher contrast and a higher brightness.

Philips PUS8807

The Philips Performance series is available in a variety of screen sizes, including an 86-inch model. Under the hood we see the 5th generation P5 Picture Processor and the screen supports 120Hz this year. HDR support is available in the form of HLG, Dolby Vision and HDR10+.

The Philips 8807 has a minimalist design with a thin silver trim on the sides and top, providing a more direct connection to the three-sided Ambilight system. The bottom of the devices with screen sizes from 43” to 65” features a narrow and elegant silver bezel and a slim, slanted center stand. The larger models (77” and 86”) have silver ‘sticks’ as standard.
