Philips TV Introducing OLED909 and OLED959 OLED TVs

Philips TV Introducing OLED909 and OLED959 OLED TVs - The latest models include the Ambilight Plus system, the new P5 AI Dual Engine processor, META Technology 2.0, and 'Sound by Bowers & Wilkins'.

Philips TV is launching two new premium series of OLED televisions this year. The latest models include the Ambilight Plus system, the new P5 AI Dual Engine processor, META Technology 2.0, and ‘Sound by Bowers & Wilkins’.

The audio system includes front-firing, left, center, and right (LCR) speakers, each containing two 30mm x 50mm mid-range drivers plus a 19mm titanium dome tweeter per channel ( with the well-known B&W Nautilus tube solution). The side-firing speakers on the left and right each contain two 30x50mm drivers, while the Atmos channels also contain two 30x50mm for each left and proper elevation speaker. All speakers are acoustically isolated and mounted in their rigid enclosures. A dedicated bass enclosure at the set’s rear with a 75mm subwoofer supported by four 45mm x 65mm passive radiators. For viewers who want even deeper bass, the OLED+959 can connect an external subwoofer.

The OLED+959 can be wall-mounted or floor-standing via its minimalist, mid-slate-colored aluminum and steel stand. The front, side, and up-firing speaker enclosures are also covered in a slate gray Kadvrat Audiomix fabric.

Philips OLED+909

The Philips OLED+909 will be available in June in 55-inch, 65-inch, and 77-inch screen sizes. This TV has the new 8th generation P5 AI processing, META Technology 2.0, a Bowers & Wilkins 3.1-channel sound system of 81W, and four-sided Ambilight. The audio system features the newly developed 30x50mm driver and a 19mm titanium tweeter for each speaker (front-facing, left, center, and right LCR). Each speaker is acoustically isolated within its rigid enclosure. At the set’s rear is a unique bass enclosure with a 75mm subwoofer supported by four passive radiators. The OLED+909 also offers the option to connect an external subwoofer.

The optimal image quality for both new OLED TV series is achieved by combining a new 8th generation version of the P5 AI Dual Engine processor with the new META 2.0 OLED panel and the META Multi Booster algorithm. The META 2.0 panel features Micro Lens Array Plus technology. This provides improved light efficiency thanks to new 3D MLA lens analyzers that optimize the angles and curvature of the MLA lenses. The addition of the new META Multi Booster algorithm enables peak brightness up to 3000 nits.

Ambilight Plus

The new Ambilight Plus system will only be launched on the OLED+959. Ambilight Plus enhances the Ambilight experience by adding multiple lenses to the back-mounted color LEDs. Ambilight Plus can, therefore, create a more dynamic, more enormous halo with more resolution and project up to four different halos at different depths. This adds a new two-dimensional effect.

Both OLED+ models offer an improved gaming experience via a new Game Bar, MEMC functionality, and 144HZ VRR (including for Dolby Vision Gaming mode). In addition, the televisions support the Matter smart home standard and Control 4. Both OLED TV series are also equipped with HDMI 2.1, Dolby Vision and HDR10+ support, and Google OS as a smart TV platform.

Philips OLED809

In addition to the two premium series, TP Vision is launching the mid-range 800 series OLED TV. Available in 42-, 48-, 55-, 65- and 77-inch screen sizes, the new OLED809 continues to raise the bar by combining the latest 8th generation P5 AI processor with new higher output OLED-EX panels – with a peak light output of 1300 nits. The sets also feature a three-sided version of Ambilight technology.

The 8th generation P5 AI features the new Ambient Intelligence V3 feature that optimizes HDR settings to ambient light levels and maintains excellent HDR performance even in bright viewing conditions and highly lit rooms. The gaming experience has been enhanced with the new Game Bar, MEMC gaming, and 144 KHz VRR, including Dolby Vision Gaming.

In addition, the OLED809 features an integrated 70W 2.1 sound system – 50W for the 42″ – with a more precise “digital crossover” that precisely controls the distribution to the “two-way” left and right speakers, plus a “dedicated triple-ring” , rear-firing bass speaker – which is supported by four “passive radiators.”

The European design of the OLED809 is recognizable for Philips. It features an ultra-thin, black metal bezel and a metal swivel base in a satin chrome finish. Extruded metal feet in Satin Chrome are featured on the 77-inch version of the product.
