Philips rolls out HDR10+
Toengelsblog announces that several Philips TVs already have a firmware update received with which support for HDR10+ is added. The update is automatically downloaded on compatible models or can be downloaded from the Philips support website. It is not yet clear whether the HDR10+ support only applies to streaming services or to HDMI-connected devices such as Ultra HD Blu-ray players. In the first case it would not be a disaster as the number of players with HDR10+ support is very small and besides, no Ultra HD Blu-ray discs with the format are sold.
The firmware update is available for the 55-inch and 65-inch variants in the OLED903 series, the 55-inch and 65-inch variants in the OLED803 series, the 49-inch, 55-inch and 65-inch variants in the PUS8503 LCD series and the 49-inch, 55-inch, 65-inch and 75-inch variants in the PUS8303 LCD TV series.
