The Philips OLED806 and OLED856 OLED televisions from TP Vision have yet to appear on the market, but we are already looking further ahead, to the premium models for 2021 and 2022. Thanks to a publication We know from the iF Design Awards that we can expect the Philips OLED986 and OLED936 next summer.
TP Vision has been presenting its latest top models in the field of television for years at IFA in September. This will also happen this year, regardless of whether it is a physical presentation in Berlin or a virtual presentation from Amsterdam. Yet it is no longer a big surprise what we can expect from the company. It concerns the OLED936 and OLED986, both top models that are equipped with an audio system from Bowers & Wilkins.
Philips OLED986 and OLED936
The Philips OLED936 and OLED986 are very similar to their predecessors; the OLED935 and OLED984. The most important changes in appearance are therefore mainly in the speaker under the television. Where previously fabric was used on the front of the speaker, we now see an aluminum housing. The dust has been moved to the top, which suggests that the OLED986 is now also getting upfiring Atmos speakers. The speakers support Dolby Atmos and use Bowers & Wilkins technology. Both devices are also equipped with four-sided Ambilight.
Further specifications are still lacking, but we assume that both devices will get a 4K OLED panel, have HDMI 2.1 ports and run on the latest version of the Android TV smart TV platform. We expect more information in the first week of September.
