Philips introduces OLED903 OLED TV series at a press conference at IFA 2018 in Berlin. The new series of OLED televisions consists of a 55-inch and a 65-inch model, with the unique addition of a soundbar developed in collaboration with Bowers & Wilkins.

The Philips 55OLED903 and 65OLED903 are the latest premium OLED TVs from TP Vision. Both models carry the company’s OLED+ label indicating that the televisions offer a complete and optimal viewing experience thanks to Ambilight, the P5 image processor and the Bowers & Wilkins audio system.
The new televisions are equipped with the 4K Ultra HD resolution, HDR support (HDR10, HLG and HDR10+), Android TV (version 8, Oreo), Ambilight on three sides and an OLed panel from LG that has a refresh rate of 100Hz and provides a maximum brightness of 1000 nits. In addition, the models come with the new P5 image processor. The 2nd generation P5 chip features the new Perfect Natural Reality contrast enhancing technology that uses a new advanced and intelligent contrast algorithm in combination with the existing P5 systems.
Also coming the TVs with 16GB of internal storage, four HDMI connections, two of which with HDCP 2.2, a USB 3.0 port and WiFi. Philips provides a normal remote control and remote control with touch control and built-in microphone for voice control through Amazon Alexa or the Google Assistant.
The Philips oled TVs in this series are equipped with a soundbar, which is the screen is mounted. This 2.1-channel soundbar is the first result of the collaboration between TP Vision and the British Bowers & Wilkins. The loudspeaker connects seamlessly with the screen, and is only betrayed by the Kvadrat speaker fabric on the front.
The rear bass speaker housing consists of a larger driver unit for low frequencies with two larger passive speakers. These are mounted in a larger housing, with more internal volume and extra ribs for more strength. The two tweeters / mid-range speakers are now facing forward instead of down. The speakers are also placed in a firmer housing. The soft dome tweeter and mid-range paper cones of the OLED803 have been replaced by a recessed 19mm titanium tweeter and a mid-range fiber optic speaker. Both are sealed off from each other in the speaker housing.
The OLED (+) 903 has a thin edge and two narrow horizontal metal feet. The left leg contains the Philips logo and the Bowers & Wilkins logo can be found on the right.
Price and availability
The 55OLED903 and 65OLED903 televisions from Philips have to be sold in the Netherlands and Belgium from October for suggested retail prices. 2,499 euros and 3,499 euros.
