Philips brings personal hearing profile to 2021 televisions

Philips brings personal hearing profile to 2021 televisions with a special function that allows you to put together a personal hearing profile.

Philips brings personal hearing function to its TVs: 2021 televisions from Philips come with a special function that allows you to put together a personal hearing profile. You do this by taking a hearing test / listening test via an app on your iPhone or Android smartphone. You will then receive a Hearing ID profile that you can easily link to your TV using a QR code. The result is a personalized and optimized audio reproduction that – according to TP Vision – should ensure an even better TV experience.

The hearing profile is created by means of an algorithm that looks at more than 100 parameters. For example, it is tested which tones can and cannot be heard by the user and to what extent audio can still be heard when this is masked by background noises such as noise. Several users can create their own profile, but this profile can only be used when only the person in question is sitting in front of the television. How and whether the function works when the whole family is sitting in front of the TV is not clear. There is, however, a guest mode available for when no profile is created or required.

The feature will be called Mimi Sound Processing and will be available on Philips OLED856, OLED806, OLED706, PML9506, PUS9206, PUS9006 and PUS8506 TV series this year.
