Panasonic SoundSlayer SC-HTB01

The SoundSlayer SC-HTB01 has quite an impressive name, but basically it’s a relatively simple soundbase with 2.1 channel audio and a built-in subwoofer. The device was developed in collaboration with Square Enix and offers support for Dolby Atmos, DTS: X and DTS Virtual: X.

Especially for the gamers among us, Panasonic has developed three modes:

  • Role-Playing Game Mode – Ideal for playing games and optimized for Final Fantasy XIV Online. This mode should create a sense of reality where you feel immersed in the game world.
  • First-Person Shooter mode – This mode should provide perfection in the position of audio objects. For example, footsteps or other subtle sounds must be extra audible.
  • Voice mode – This mode makes human speech more audible and, according to Panasonic, is especially suitable for adventure games.

Gamers can switch between modes quickly and easily depending on the game they are playing or the game style. The speaker can be placed in front of a monitor or you can put your monitor on it. Finally, the SoundSlayer SC-HTB01 has support for 4K and HDR, an HDMI input with HDMI ARC, support for hi-res audio and bluetooth. The speaker is for sale in the Netherlands and Belgium for around 300 euros.
