Panasonic today presented the new Panasonic 2018 LCD LED line-up during a press event in Mallorca. The Japanese manufacturer this year brings two new OLED TVs with three new series LCD LED TVs.

Panasonic 2018 OLED TVs

At the beginning of January this year, Panasonic announced two new OLED TVs for the Benelux; the FZW954 and FZW804 series. Both series come with a 2018 OLED panel, offer HDR10+ support and are equipped with the HCX processor. The FZW954 has a soundbar set by Technics below the screen.

More information about the new OLED models can be found in the article about the FZW954 and FZW804 series.

Panasonic 2018 LCD LED TVs

The top model in the LCD LED line-up for 2018 is the FXW784 series. These models come with the “Art & Interior Glass” frame and are made of aluminum and glass. The FXW724 and FXW654 models offer a thin “Switch Design” that lets you set the foot to the full width of the TV or in a narrower setting to the center, based on the width of the TV cabinet at home.

Although there are still a small number of full HD TVs sold, Panasonic focuses on 4K Ultra HD TVs with HDR support, with HDR10, HLG and the new HDR10+ dynamic metadata technology. Under the bonnet you can find the HCX processor, which has been slightly improved this year. Panasonic promises an even better processing of fast movements, more details and a tighter color reproduction. The local dimming technique has also been improved. This combines the backlight adjustment with signal processing control so that the brightness of the TV can be adjusted to hundreds of areas scattered on the screen. The brightness of the complete series of TVs has increased by 20 percent.

The smart TV platform from Panasonic is still called My Home Screen, but the platform has been given version number 3.0 and is therefore slightly improved. The static home screen with the three icons has disappeared. These icons now appear over the live TV screen (or other input), allowing you to keep watching the content. The design is also slightly adjusted.

Panasonic FXW784 series

The top model is the FXW784 series. These TVs have the same Hollywood Cinema Experience (HCX) processor as the OLED screens for 2018 from Panasonic and a 4K Pro HDR Cinema screen, plus a wide color spectrum. The white balance has also been improved, resulting in more accurate colors thanks to the control that the HCX processor exerts.
