Xiaomi Mi Box with Android TV coming up – rumor

The first Xiaomi Mi Box was one of the first media players with Android TV on board that could display 4k content . With its low price it turned out to be a formidable competitor for many set-top boxes with Android for televisions on board. That is why it is not surprising that Xiaomi would work on a successor to the box, which saw the light of day in 2016. There are also documents of the FCC spotted this weekend, showing that the Chinese manufacturer is working on a new Mi Box. The FCC is the American communication watchdog.

In terms of hardware we should not expect any major changes. Under the bonnet is again a quadcore processor and 2 GB of memory. However, there is now support for high dynamic range and the device has been made somewhat flatter. The remote control is also slightly adjusted. There is now an extra Netflix – and a Live TV button. There is also a button for the microphone and thus Google Assistant. It is not yet known when Xiaomi announces the new Xiaomi Mi Box.
